This post offers the opportunity for a researcher to join one of the leading Stroke Research Groups in the UK and internationally. The Stroke Research Group is part of Clinical Neurosciences, and is part of an exceptional critical mass of brain imaging research on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus site. The Stroke Research Group brings together a multidisciplinary group of researchers looking at the causes and treatment of stroke using a variety of techniques including clinical trials and epidemiological studies, molecular genetics, and brain imaging. The group has a particular interest in cerebral small vessel disease (which accounts for 20% of strokes and is the most common cause of vascular cognitive impairment and dementia).
The successful candidate will work on our unique existing longitudinal multimodal MRI datasets to use them to further investigate the pathogenesis and treatment of cerebral small vessel disease and/or to assist us with our new programme of 7T MRI in cerebrovascular disease.
The post would be suitable for an Image Analyst or a Neuroscientist who has previously used image analysis to answer clinical neuroscience questions.
We are looking for somebody with the enthusiasm and drive to not only work on existing projects but also to develop their own research ideas and independent research programme. The group offers an excellent opportunity to write up first author papers, and develop research ideas towards a fellowship.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 November 2020 in the first instance.
