Cambridge Language Sciences is a virtual Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) connecting a community of language researchers in different institutions across the University of Cambridge and beyond, and providing the framework, resources and activities to support the development of interdisciplinary research. We are seeking an experienced administrator, reporting to the Research Development Manager.
You will carry out a range of tasks relating to research support, communications and administration.
*Compile, analyse and summarise research information and assist with the preparation of reports
*Organise events and activities such as workshops and conferences
*Act as a point of contact for the IRC and liaise with network members and external parties
*Monitor resources and expenditure against budgets and maintain financial records for the IRC
*Provide administrative support for meetings
*Maintain and update the website, moderate the mailing list and produce a termly newsletter
This is a part time position (18.25 hours/week, 0.5 FTE) until 30 September 2019, with the possibility of renewal thereafter.
You will have a degree (or equivalent qualification) in a language sciences discipline and previous administrative experience within the Higher Education sector. You will enjoy working independently at times, have excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be highly competent in the use of Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with University of Cambridge systems would be a significant advantage.
