Senior Accounts Administrator (Fixed Term)


The main duties of the Senior Accounts Administrator are to provide knowledge & support to the Department of Public Health & Primary Care and for the Cambridge Institute for Public Health on University accounting policies & procedures and ensuring that as a Department we adhere to these. The Senior Accounts Administrator will line manage 2 Accounts Assistants and working together as a team will be responsible for all elements of Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and the General Ledger.

The role purpose is to assist the Finance Coordinator in supervising the accounts team and to be the first point of contact for members of staff in the department for all queries relating to accounts.

This post will require very close working relationships with the Clinical School finance team and central University teams.

Applicants should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent qualifications or have equivalent practical experience. AAT, CIMA or ACCA qualifications are desirable. Candidates should have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in their work and be able to demonstrate factual and theoretical knowledge of finance administration. They should be able to use their initiative to solve problems and work independently when required. Applicants should have at least two years of relevant experience in an accounts based environment, with experience of working in the University of Cambridge desirable. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have experience of line managing staff.

The funds for these posts are available until 31st August 2020.
