Undergraduate Office Administrator (Part Time)

The Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a part-time Undergraduate Office administrator to work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The post will be part of a team providing administrative support for the functions of the Faculty of Mathematics' Undergraduate Office. The Undergraduate Office administers the undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, acts as first point of contact for internal and external queries relating to admissions, examinations and Faculty business, maintains key documentation including the lecture timetable, and provides administrative support to the Secretary of the Faculty Board in the servicing of the Board and its committees.

Previous experience of administrative work is desirable. The successful applicant should be educated to 'A' level standard or equivalent with GCSE English and Mathematics.

Excellent IT skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, databases, webpage and email packages are essential together with a knowledge of, or willingness to learn TeX and LaTeX, and the University's computing systems (in particular, the University's student records system, CamSIS).

Excellent organisational and communication skills, and attention to detail, are a must, together with a confident approach and tact in dealing with people at all levels, and the ability and willingness to work on your own initiative and to work within a team.
