Applications are invited for the post of Research Strategy Analyst. The post holder will support the delivery of the University's programme of Strategic Research Reviews and the activities of the Research Strategy Office.
The Research Strategy Office within University's Research Office supports the work of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, the Heads of the Schools and the Research Policy Committee in devising and implementing strategies and policies to maintain and increase the University's research funding; shape the University's response to a changing research landscape and the requirements of our funding partners and enhance Cambridge's standing as a world-leading institution.
These Reviews are designed to offer an external perspective on the Cambridge research environment by bringing in an external panel of experts to appraise activity in disciplinary areas identified by the Schools as priorities for review. The Reviews will be a major element of the University's strategy to identify and address the challenges that Cambridge will need to overcome in order to retain our world-leading research position.
The post holder should have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with academic colleagues and researchers; the ability to address and communicate highly complex information to individuals and groups at all levels; excellent writing skills and experience of writing papers and reports; the ability to analyse and interpret data and to work independently.
A good first degree and a general knowledge of the HE sector, particularly of the research environment, are essential. A higher degree and/or research experience and a broader cultural knowledge of the policies and procedures of the University of Cambridge would be desirable.
This is an internal secondment opportunity.
