HR Assistant (Part-Time, Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a part-time HR Assistant (18.5 hours per week) within the Department of Oncology based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The post holder will provide an efficient and effective HR administrative service and secretarial support to the facilitate the smooth operation of the central administrative team. The post holder will be the first point of contact for HR queries within the Department.

The Department of Oncology is an academic department within the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge. Our Head of Department is Professor Richard Gilbertson, a world leading expert on childhood brain tumours, who is also Director of the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Cancer. We are a multi-site department based on or close to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The department includes 18 Research Group Leaders, many of whom are clinicians, and 130 staff and students.

Applicants should a good general education, to include GCSE or equivalent, must include English and Maths, and have good IT skills, particularly MS Excel and Word. The successful candidate will be organised, with good oral and written communication skills and the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
