The University of Cambridge is seeking a committed and experienced individual to join the University's Environment and Energy Section as Energy Manager.
The Environment and Energy Section provides strategic direction to the University on a range of environmental sustainability issues. It develops and implements long-term plans to reduce the University's environmental impacts, meet the University's environmental sustainability commitments, and comply with regulatory requirements. Through efficient and effective management of the University's utilities budget, and by supporting initiatives to reduce the organisation's energy use, the Energy Manager plays a key role in helping the Section to achieve this.
Key elements of the role include utilities procurement and budget management, managing and co-ordinating all aspects of the University's responsibilities in connection with utilities and carbon related legislation, and the delivery of strategic utilities-related projects. Stakeholder engagement is an important element of all aspects of the role.
Candidates should have excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. They should be experienced in all aspects of utility procurement and management. In addition, candidates should be knowledgeable of current and emerging legislation, policies and technologies relevant to energy management.
This is a great opportunity to help shape the environmental sustainability policy and performance of a world class institution.
