Professorship of Finance

The Board of Electors to the Professorship of Finance invite applications for this Professorship from persons whose work is connected with finance, to take up appointment on 1 January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Preference will be given to candidates doing research and teaching in theoretical or empirical asset pricing. Candidates will have an outstanding research record of international stature in finance and the vision, leadership, experience and enthusiasm to build on current strengths in maintaining and developing a leading research presence.

We seek scholars who would be a) enthusiastic about contributing intellectually to the group whose members have published in the leading finance journals (including the JFE, JF, and RFS among others), and b) capable of teaching finance courses to the Master in Finance (MFin), MPhil in Finance, as well as to MBAs, Executive MBAs, Executives and PhDs. The Professor would be expected to carry out research that is not simply published in top journals but also has impact.

Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision and administration. The teaching load will be limited to 70 hours a year. The Professor will be based in central Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
