The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint a Temporary Teaching Associate in Classics (Greek Literature) from 01 September 2018 - 31 August 2020. This post is open to those with a primary research and teaching interest in any area of Greek literature. The successful applicant will benefit from the world-class facilities offered by the University and the generous support of research and teaching provided by the Faculty. The teaching will chiefly comprise undergraduate lectures/classes, but may also include Masters level seminars and a contribution to the Faculty's intensive language-learning programmes (principally, "Intensive Greek"). In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to take a full part in undergraduate examining (including the setting and marking of language/translation papers), in the examining of MPhil students, and in the administration of the Faculty. Candidates will need to show evidence of the following qualifications, skills and experience:
-Good first degree and a doctorate in a relevant subject area (or clear evidence that completion of such a doctorate is imminent) with publications and participation in scholarly activity commensurate with stage of career;
-Evidence of ability to teach Greek literature and language effectively, and at all relevant levels;
-Ability to play an effective role in the life and work of the Faculty as a whole and willingness to contribute equitably to administrative tasks of the Faculty;
-Ability to work as part of a team.
