The CRUK Cambridge Institute is a world class centre for cancer research performing leading science ranging from basic cancer biology to clinical application. In the Hannon laboratory we are interested in cancer research and RNA biology and we have a history of developing new tools to address cutting-edge scientific questions.
We are currently undertaking an extensive next generation sequencing effort to understand the relationships between ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and metastatic breast cancer.
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Scientific Associate to aid in the completion of this project. The role holder will be using histology and immunostaining, as well assisting in library preparation from low input material derived from a large collection of patient samples.
The successful candidate will have experience in working in a molecular biology laboratory and the ability to work independently. A PhD degree in a relevant field is preferable. The candidate must have expertise in molecular biology and histology. Experience in NGS library preparation, especially from low input, is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be highly organised, show initiative and independent thinking as well as possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
