Clinical Senior Research Associate - Cancer Imaging (Fixed Term)

The successful applicant will be closely working with Prof. Evis Sala and be part of the Department of Radiology with close links to the Department of Oncology and the CRUK Cambridge Institute. He or she will join an enthusiastic and collaborative group studying the role of new functional and molecular imaging technique in patients with cancer.

Furthermore, this clinical research position is part of a large Integrated Cancer Medicine Theme funded by CRUK Cambridge Center. The overarching objective of ICM in conjunction with another big philanthropic donor is to deliver a revolutionary new treatment paradigm for cancer patients. This concept envisages the integration of clinical, laboratory, mathematical and computational science and technology to the point where all patient data is used maximally to guide optimal treatment decision. The ICM leverages our expertise in cancer genomics, 'liquid biopsies' (detecting tumour DNA in the blood), molecular imaging and 3D tumour mapping to generate Data Streams that simultaneously report the functional biology of tumours among cancer patients receiving active treatment. These data are then integrated using innovative Cambridge-invented mathematics and statistical algorithms with the goal of charting precision medicine approaches for all patients.

S/he will also perform some clinical duties at Addenbrooke's hospital.

Applicants should be medically qualified, have, or be eligible for, full GMC registration, have FRCR or equivalent and be trained (or training) in oncological Imaging.

This appointment requires an NHS Honorary Clinical Consultant Contract.
