The Clinical School Computing Service (CSCS) is looking for two motivated individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds who are interested in systems, security and networks and enjoy helping people using technology.
You'll design, implement, support and maintain enterprise grade server and storage systems used by research scientists across the Biomedical Campus. We actively encourage staff to find ways to improve existing services and develop new services. You'll be given training to support you in doing a good job and continually develop your skills. Examples of planned projects include automation of service provision and enhancements to our systems monitoring, both opportunities for innovation.
Applicants are expected to hold a degree in a relevant subject, or demonstrable skills and track record of supporting and maintaining enterprise IT systems. We're looking for applicants who can work confidently in at least 2 of the following areas:
- Microsoft Windows Enterprise Server environments (AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- NetApp CDOT 9 onwards
- Linux Administration
- VMWare vSphere 6 onwards
- Microsoft Exchange 2013 onwards
Knowledge of Citrix XenApp/Desktop, SQL Server 2012 onwards, PowerShell and other languages will be an advantage.
Starting salary is dependent on experience and ability and is expected to be in the range of £29,799 - £31,604 with annual increments up to £38,833.
