Applications are invited for a University Lectureship in Histopathology (Clinical) in the Department of Pathology www.path.cam.ac.uk at the University of Cambridge, to take up the appointment from 1st September 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The purpose of the role is to strengthen the Department's teaching and training of clinical and undergraduate students, as well as its basic and applied research, and to support and maintain the University's national and international reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
Applicants must be educated to degree level, normally with a PhD in relevant specialist subject area. Applicants for appointment are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching at both clinical and undergraduate levels, as well as excellence in research. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in research in molecular pathology.
As a University Teaching Officer, the appointee will be expected to conduct lecturing and small group teaching to clinical students and undergraduates and to contribute to directing studies for programmes within their subject area.
The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue academic research at an international level of sufficient quality to be returnable in the Research Excellence Framework, including developing a research group and attaining research funding.
The post is available from 1st September 2018 and is remunerated on the Clinical Academic Scale at Consultant level.
