Applications are invited for an adaptable, organised and experienced administrator to support the activities of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, particularly in relation to human resources, immigration compliance and event management, during the absence of the post holder on maternity leave. The post also involves line management of the Personnel Administrator and acting as PA to the Head of Department (HoD). Given the temporary nature of this post the ideal candidate will be quick to absorb new information, able to take initiative with minimal guidance and effective under pressure. Previous experience of working in human resources, especially knowledge of recruitment and immigration compliance issues, would be advantageous, as would experience in the Higher Education sector. Experience in the use of the University's human resources systems (CHRIS, RAS, Web Recruitment) would be beneficial, although training for this can be provided.
The Department offers a stimulating and friendly working environment with a firm commitment to staff development. This is a challenging position, and would provide an excellent secondment opportunity for an employee of the University of Cambridge. Any candidate wishing to consider this post as a secondment opportunity may already have some of the skills required but should also be able to demonstrate a keenness and the aptitude to develop into a more senior administrative role.
