Applications are invited for a Research Associate in colloidal semiconducting nanocrystal for organic-nanocrystal hybrid systems, University of Cambridge.
The successful candidate will join the world-leading Optoelectronics Group, one of the world's leading academic groups in the field of organic and hybrid electronics. Its research programme is built on a broad scientific approach aiming to understand the electronic properties of solution processable semiconductors in general, but also aiming to understand in-depth the physical processes that govern the performance of organic, nanocrystal and hybrid organic-nanocrystal electronic devices, such as light emitting diodes, photovoltaics, and field effect transistors. Further information can be found on the group's website: www.oe.phy.cam.ac.uk
We are looking for a highly motivated, bright and enthusiastic candidate with a strong background in synthesis, characterisation and device integration of colloidal semiconducting nanocrystal. The successful candidate will join a highly interdisciplinary team working on organic-nanocrystal hybrid systems for novel photonic and optoelectronic devices.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related area, and an excellent publication record. Direct experience of the synthesis of semiconducting nanocrystals, solution processing of nanocrystals, core-shell nanocrystals, high PLQE nanocrystals and the ligand exchange and surface passivation of nanocrystals as well as a strong track record of high-quality research and publication is required. Experience with organic semiconductors, nanocrystal-organic hybrids, PbS or PbSe nanocrystals, as well as electro-optical measurements of thin films would be a plus.
The position is available immediately.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
