Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to work on a project under the supervision of Dr Robert Phipps. This project will be aimed at developing site selective C-H bond functionalisation reactions on sp3 carbons using free radicals. Radicals will be generated through various techniques, including using peroxides or using photocatalysts. The project will explore the potential for new methodology development using this approach and attempt to provide proof-of-principle of the aim.
Applicants should have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry. Experience in modern synthetic techniques in a leading environment is essential, particularly in the development of new methodology. A strong track record in catalysis during the PhD is essential.
