Teaching Office Administrator

You will provide administrative support to the teaching activities in the Department. The duties include management of the business of the Teaching Committee, arranging and maintaining lecture timetables and associated room bookings, organising the production and distribution of printed teaching resources, overseeing collection and marking of assessed work, managing examinations and producing associated mark spreadsheets, maintaining demonstrator schedules, managing the admissions process for the MASt and MPhil courses, organising outgoing student visits and incoming speakers, communicating with external lecturers and examiners, communicating with students in regard to all of the above.

In addition you will provide general administrative and secretarial support for the Senior Teaching Associate, Director of the MPhil and general support in the Department.

Ideally you should be: Educated to A-level or beyond, with good GCSEs or equivalent in English, Maths and Science, be highly organised, have a good knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, be able to effectively communicate with academic staff, students and colleagues and have experience in an administrative environment, ideally with an educational establishment.
