Clinical Anaesthetist


Two Veterinary Anaesthetists are required to join the anaesthesia team in the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital from 1 June 2018 or as soon after as possible. You will work within the team to assist in organising and managing the provision of anaesthesia and critical care services to the Department; participate in the practical and theoretical instruction of veterinary students and training of Clinical Training Scholars; and take part in the out-of-hours on-call rota. You will benefit from the state-of-the-art facilities in the Small Animal Hospital, and a strong team of support staff. The role will also include some equine and farm animal duties.

You should have significant experience in an animal hospital environment (experience of working in an ICU environment is desirable), have completed a recognised residency programme (RCVS, ACVA or ECVA) and have a veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. A postgraduate Diploma in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia (ECVAA or ACVAA) or eligibility for one is desirable.
