Chief Stores Technician (Buyer)

The role holder will carry out the following duties. - Give advice and guidance in purchasing to all members of the Department. - Purchase all of the Department's equipment and consumables, ensuring that the University's Financial Regulations are adhered to whilst obtaining the best value for money. This involves raising purchase orders and converting requisitions on the Cambridge University Finance System, being familiar with the University's tendering process for high value items and maintaining auditable records for all purchases. - To oversee the Stores Technician and the operation of the Departmental stores. On occasion to provide cover for holidays and sickness in the Stores.

Qualification and/or experience equivalent to membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or equivalent to at least level 4.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 10th April 2018, with a preferred start date of Monday 21st May 2018.
