Research Interviewer x3 (Part Time, Fixed Term)

The Cognitive Function and Ageing Study II (CFAS II) is a longitudinal, epidemiological population based study which began in 2008, further information can be found here: www.cfas.ac.uk

We seek to appoint 3 part time (50% FTE) research interviewers to approach previous participants of the CFAS II study to invite them to participate in a further wave of interviewing and recruit selected participants to a pilot intervention trial aimed at tackling health behaviours via internet counselling.

Interviewers will conduct a fully structured computerised interview with participants in their own homes in Ely and surrounding areas. The interview will include a short battery of physical measurements for which full training will be given including height, weight, blood pressure and measurement of cholesterol via finger pin prick test.

Interviewers must be independently mobile as many participants live in remote rural locations with limited or no public transport services. They must be able to carry/move a moderate amount of interview equipment into participant's homes.

The successful candidates will be educated to A-level standard or equivalent or have equivalent experience. Preferably have experience in a health/community related area. Previous experience of carrying out structured interviewing is preferable but not necessary as full training will be given. We are looking for candidates with a high standard of communication skills and an interest in working with older adults.

All successful applicants will require a standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, an Occupational Health Assessment and will be required to attend a compulsory four day training programme from 10th ¿ 13th April inclusive to be held at the Cambridge Institute of Public Health, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre).
