We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hardworking Maintenance Technician to join our busy maintenance team. Reporting to the Deputy Facilities Manager, the duties of the post will include a wide range of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as well as minor installations and modifications of building services, structure and equipment.
You will work in all areas of the Department including plant rooms, laboratories, controlled environments and support areas. You will be expected to organise yourself and other available resources in a way that minimises disruption to research and teaching activities.
The role holder will allocate work to two Maintenance Technicians ensuring the maintenance team works efficiently to successfully plan and implement a wide variety of infrastructure and maintenance tasks. You will have a flexible approach to work and there is a requirement to provide support outside of normal working hours in an emergency.
This is a varied role which requires mechanical engineering skills as well as excellent communication, problem-solving and team working skills. Some electrical engineering knowledge is desirable. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable and a relevant qualification would be advantageous.
