A vacancy has arisen within the Departmental Secretariat.
The duties are varied and involve the provision of an efficient, helpful reception area: dealing with visitors, organising room bookings and the maintenance of a variety of security and database systems. In addition, the successful candidate would be expected to provide secretarial support to senior academic and administrative staff within the Department, operate a small switchboard, sell photocopier cards and provide a general administrative service to the scientific research and support service groups.
The ideal candidate will have a good general education (GCSE standard including English and Maths), be prepared to work on their own initiative, have the ability to prioritise their work, be well organised, flexible in their approach and have excellent communication and IT skills.
