The Faculty will also consider those who expect to have a PhD by September 2018.

Appointments are subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the University of Cambridge. Applications should include:

  • signed application cover sheet (CHRIS/6) (Parts I and III only)
  • curriculum vitae;

  • teaching and research interests.

Three letters of reference will be sought upon receipt of application.

The current pensionable stipends are: £39,992 - £50,618 (Lecturer, University Grade 9). In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a supplement to the salary range stated for this role to a total of up to £72K for a period of 5 years. Any such supplement would be awarded on the basis of a demonstrable history of outstanding achievement and an expected future level of contribution and is entirely at the discretion of the University.

The successful candidates will be expected to undertake teaching (which may be in the form of lectures, seminars and classes) and will also be expected to act as an examiner, as directed by the Faculty Board. They will also be expected to undertake research with a view to publication in the best international journals and to undertake administrative tasks as directed by the Faculty Board.

Candidates should hold, or have submitted their PhD by September 2018. They should be able to demonstrate a potential for an effective contribution to teaching and to their subject in areas other than teaching, such as the management of research, general contribution to their discipline and administration.
