Assistant Director, Digital Initiatives


The Assistant Director (Digital Initiatives & Strategy) is part of the Cambridge University Library Senior Leadership Team responsible for the planning and delivery of the Library's strategic priorities across all its libraries, services and functions. The Assistant Director will contribute to the strategic and operational success of Cambridge University Library in support of educational and research excellence. The University Library is currently renewing its strategic plan and this role will work closely with the University Librarian to provide strategic leadership and direction for digital initiatives & innovation in support of the Library's goals. The role-holder will work in close partnership with the other Deputy Directors and the new role of Chief Operating Officer.

The role-holder will have a proven track-record in digital leadership and delivery and demonstrate leadership in developing a highly motivated and progressive team of senior managers with a user-oriented approach to service development and continuous improvement. S/he will ensure that innovative, coherent and value-added services are delivered in a hybrid library environment in support of diverse user needs. S/he will also oversee the team's activities in relation digital services, digital development and infrastructure and strategic projects.
