Critical Services Engineer

We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our Data Centre team. Particular responsibilities of the role include supporting the Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure to ensure efficient and safe operation of the electrical power and chilled water cooling systems, and routine maintenance activities for the building fabric and external areas. You should have experience of co-ordinating maintenance activities with in house staff as well as external maintenance providers and contractors, and a knowledge of Building Management Systems.

You should have good inter-personal communication skills, a flexible approach to work and a broad knowledge of Critical Facilities Infrastructure. Part of the role involves the occasional lifting of fairly heavy equipment, using appropriate aids, and you may be required to work at multiple locations, thus a current full driving licence will be required. You will be educated to A-Level standard, or equivalent, with good grades in English and Mathematics. You should also have an appropriate qualification in a Mechanical and Electrical related subject.

The position is full time Monday to Friday with occasional overtime, and participation in an out of hours on call rota.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
