Chief Clerk - Godwin Laboratory (Part Time)


We are seeking an experienced administrator with financial experience, ideally in a university setting, to oversee the management of research grants which fund world-leading research into paleoclimatology. Working in close liaison with senior members of the department, the post holder will play a crucial part in the smooth running of the Godwin Laboratory and will have responsibility for managing budgets, invoicing, purchasing and credit control.

Educated to at least A level standard, with experience of finance administration, you will have excellent time management and organisational skills, be diplomatic and approachable with the ability to be firm when necessary. Personnel management and interpersonal skills are essential for this demanding role and an understanding of the University finance system including Marketplace will be an advantage.

20 hours per week, the exact working pattern will be agreed in discussion with the successful applicant.

Limited funding: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
