Applications are invited for 2 x postdoctoral research associate positions in the laboratory of Dr. Walid Khaled at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Cambridge. Our laboratory focuses on the identification and characterisation of cancer drivers in breast and lung cancer (Khaled WT et. al 2015, Lazarus K et al. 2017) with the ultimate aim of developing effective targeted therapies. The successful candidates will work together on a drug discovery project funded by CRUK. You must be a careful and methodical worker, accurate and ready to take responsibility as part of a team. You should be self-motivated and able to organise, perform and analyse experiments with minimal instruction. You will have several years of previous laboratory experience and be capable of working efficiently and productively without direct supervision. The post will require some weekend work. Careful observation and accurate computer-based record keeping and presentation are essential.
Post 1 Biochemist Applicants should have, or expect to obtain shortly, a PhD in the life sciences and have demonstrable experience in studying protein-protein interactions and/or a strong interest in cancer biology. The candidates will need to have strong experience in the following techniques: biophysical assays (eg. SPR), proteomics and biochemical assays. Experience with protein crystallography or NMR will also be desirable.
Post 2 Cell biologist Applicants should have, or expect to obtain shortly, a PhD in the life sciences and have demonstrable experience of studying cancer biology. The candidates will need to have experience in cell culture, molecular biology and GEMM. Experience with performing Chipseq, RNAseq and NGS analysis will also be desirable.
