The Department of Geography is seeking to appoint an appropriately qualified candidate to the permanent post of Research Administrator.
This is a key role in supporting the Department's research operations and strategy. The Research Administrator assists the Department to achieve excellence in research and to obtain additional income through the provision of support services and sound financial management of its research activities, taking responsibility for the management and oversight of all aspects of research grant administration in the Department and for the provision of research-related administrative support, both personally and by co-ordinating the work of others.
The successful candidate will have experience of research administration in a higher education environment, and of financial planning and budget management. They will have the ability to engage with strategy, to think independently and take initiative, to work flexibly, to plan and prioritize and to effectively manage parallel work streams and competing deadlines. They will need excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
