We are looking for a research facilitator to support the Office for Translational Research (OTR).
Cambridge University Health Partners (CUHP) unites the University of Cambridge and three high-performing NHS Foundation Trusts centred on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. CUHP has the strategic intention to increase the impact of its research activity on the development of new treatments for patients. To achieve this, the OTR was tasked with developing and managing key industrial research partnerships of as well as developing a programme of translational research projects on behalf of CUHP. The team offers support by sourcing funding, expertise, and providing project management for the development and application of technology for patient care as a whole, ranging from drug discovery to cell and gene therapy through to medical interventions.
You will play a crucial part in delivering the OTR's activities in managing translational projects, promoting, developing and delivering a portfolio of industrial research partnerships, and managing training programmes in collaboration with industry. You will thus work in partnership with people across the University and in industry. You will be responsible for the delivery of a number of schemes and events to enhance interactions between University researchers and industry, and foster translational research.
In order to achieve this you will need organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build strong relationships and networks. Experience of drafting and negotiating agreements and costing would also be desirable. The ability to work well independently and as part of a team and meet tight deadlines is essential.
You will have a degree in a relevant subject with a PhD being an advantage, and experience of the research environment gained through working in either a university or a research-intensive organisation, including industry.
