Applications are invited for the position of Research Administrator at the Institute of Criminology.
This is a new part-time position (40% FTE) and is available from 2nd January, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The funds for this post are available for three years in the first instance.
The Research Administrator is required to support a newly created Centre for Global Human Movement. This is an exciting cross-disciplinary initiative, with international elements too. Essentially, we are looking for someone to work alongside a Senior Impact Fellow (Senior Research Associate) and a cross-disciplinary Steering Group, chaired by a senior member of staff within the Institute of Criminology.
The Research Administrator will coordinate and support the Centre within the Institute to ensure the smooth and efficient running of research and related activities. This will include organising events and activities such as workshops and conferences, provide management of internal research funding, financial administration, provide secretarial support and carry out general research grant administration.
The role-holder must be educated to HND/HNC, Level 4/5 vocational qualification or have an equivalent level of practical administrative experience. Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential and experience of monitoring budgets would be desirable. Previous experience of research administration would be an advantage, but is not essential.
