The Alzheimer's Research UK Cambridge Drug Discovery Institute (DDI) is seeking a talented Research Associate (Neurobiology Scientist) with experience in animal and cellular models of neurodegeneration to join its growing biology team.
The Cambridge DDI is part of a network of world-class Drug Discovery Institutes funded by Alzheimer's Research UK and prosecutes drug discovery projects from target to in vivo proof of concept and beyond for novel targets in the neurodegeneration therapeutic area. This is an exciting opportunity to join this growing institute which is based on the prestigious Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
The successful applicant will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a related subject and possess additional neurobiology research experience. They will have a research background that involves working on rodents and possess skills related to in vivo animal and cell based models of neurodegenerative disease. Moreover, they will have communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team in order to drive forward collaborative projects. We welcome applications from candidates with purely neurodegenerative disease experience, expertise in behavioural and cognitive tasks or who have prior experience in coordinating preclinical drug studies. Furthermore, experience of investigating the relevance and therapeutic potential of neurodegeneration targets and mechanisms through genetic manipulation would be advantageous.
The successful candidate(s) will work with chemists and other biologists in a stimulating and collaborative environment with opportunities for training and development.
