The Alzheimer's Research UK Cambridge Drug Discovery Institute (DDI) is seeking a Research Laboratory Coordinator to join its growing team.
The Cambridge DDI is part of a network of world-class Drug Discovery Institutes, funded by Alzheimer's Research UK, forming the Alzheimer's Research UK Drug Discovery Alliance. The Cambridge DDI prosecutes drug discovery projects from target to in vivo proof of concept and beyond for novel targets in the neurodegeneration therapeutic area.
Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), you will have authority to coordinate and oversee the running of the research laboratories to ensure the efficient use of resources and will liaise with the Heads of Biology and Chemistry to ensure the effective operation of the institute. You will be responsible for ensuring that documentation associated with Health and Safety is kept up-to-date and will assist the CSO in ensuring the safe running of the institute. You will have responsibility for procurement and effective provision of equipment, reagents and consumables, ensuring efficient use of resources. You will ensure the smooth running of the laboratories through equipment maintenance and upkeep. You will also support the institute through administration such as staff inductions and coordinating meetings as well as other activities.
