The University of Cambridge's Development and Alumni Relations Office is looking for an Events Assistant to be a part of an Events team responsible for designing, planning and executing dynamic alumni, donor and campaign events throughout the UK and abroad.
The Events team work closely with the university fundraising senior management team, the Vice-Chancellor's office, senior academics, and 31 Colleges to deliver a sophisticated program of events in the UK and overseas.

-Playing an active part in the set-up and organisation of events, under the direction of the Events Manager and in collaboration with the Events Organisers.
-Assisting with the organisation, development and successful delivery of the Events programme; including creating and coordinating aspects of events, assisting with invitations, bookings, enquiries and often attendance at the event.
-Act as the point of contact for event bookings ensuring all details are correctly logged, payments processed (where applicable) and the associated confirmation details are effectively communicated.
-Assist with the compilation, collation and proofing for major publications including brochures, invitations and electronic communications e.g. e-bulletin and Development Newsletter. Undertake picture research for publications and publicity.
To be considered for this role, you will possess the following essential knowledge and skills: Experience of events, admin and/or marketing is needed; High standards of accuracy and literacy are necessary along with some knowledge of the University or other Higher Education institutions and higher education funding issues; Excellent IT skills, including word processing, email, spread sheets, databases, presentations and the ability to learn new packages; Experience and understanding of digital communications and online media; Excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills; Tact, enthusiasm, politeness, discretion, patience and initiative are paramount, as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
The Events Assistant's role is to provide flexible clerical and administrative support, primarily to the Event Organisers and Manager, within the Alumni and Supporter Relations Team. The Events Assistant will also help to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Events Team enabling it to be responsive to individual alumni/non alumni contacts while contributing to the delivery of strategic goals agreed by the Executive Director of Development & Alumni Relations.
