As part of the Experimental Medicine Training Initiative applications are invited for a prestigious fully-funded, Clinical Research Associate - PhD Studentship at the University of Cambridge.
This innovative new initiative is a partnership between the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre and Pharmaceutical Companies. The Studentship is available immediately and provides an unrivalled opportunity to undertake high quality clinical research in the field of cardiometabolic disease, in collaboration with MedImmune and the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge. It will appeal to clinicians with a subspecialty interest and experience in Clinical Pharmacology, Cardiology, or Metabolic Medicine. The Studentship award will cover a clinical stipend for up to 3years and one term, and research consumables
This project is a unique opportunity to join the collaboration between the Division of Experimental Medicine and Immunotherapeutics at the University of Cambridge, and the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease (CVMD) group at MedImmune. The successful candidate will join Professor Wilkinson's research team at the University of Cambridge with an aim to complete their doctoral studies. The overall aim of this project is to gain deeper insights into the effects of incretins on metabolism and cardiac function.
This project will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to apply their strengths to CVMD and experimental medicine, and a unique hands-on perspective of translational medicine. The successful applicant will be offered the opportunity to spend time with MedImmune and academic collaborators in Europe. The structured mentoring and training environment will allow the candidate to develop as an academic clinician with expertise in designing and conducting experimental medicine studies.
It is essential that the applicant is fully registered with the GMC, and desirable that they already hold a National Training Number.
