The Synthetic Biology Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) is based in the Department of Plant Sciences and aims to connect academics and others at the interface of biology and engineering through a range of events, funding initiatives and interdisciplinary activities.
We are seeking a part-time (0.5FTE) Events and Communications Co-ordinator who will work closely with the SRI Co-ordinator, Dr Jenny Molloy, in the research group of Professor Jim Haseloff (SRI Chair). The role-holder will provide events and communication support to the SRI and responsibilities will include organising both academic and public engagement activities, distributing publicity, maintaining a website, newsletter and social media presence for the SRI and other digital and printed communications work.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing and delivering high quality events and be skilled at designing and writing content for websites, newsletters, social media and printed communications. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and a pro-active and flexible approach.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 September 2019 in the first instance.
