Applications are invited for two Outreach Coordinators to join the University of Cambridge's Widening Participation team.
The post-holders will join a new sub-team and work with the Widening Participation Manager (Outreach) to support outreach and widening participation activity across the Academic Schools of the university. This is an exciting opportunity to work with senior staff within nominated Academic School(s) to develop and deliver outreach activity which meets strategic priorities and can be effectively recorded and monitored in order to demonstrate impact.
This role will also involve developing promotional material and communications to promote undergraduate study at Cambridge, particularly amongst under-represented groups. The post-holders will take responsibility for the delivery of some outreach activities as well as coordinating events delivered by others and providing guidance to colleagues. In addition the role-holder will act as a central point of contact for outreach matters in their nominated School(s), and will be required to liaise closely with colleagues across the wider collegiate University.
Applicants should be educated to at least degree level with significant experience of project management and event organisation, especially in a Higher Education setting. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to widening participation and an understanding of the issues that affect recruitment, especially of under-represented groups, to Cambridge and other selective universities. Applicants should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be capable of interacting and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders. The role-holders will be based within Schools, Faculties and Departments and thus an ability to prioritise their own workload and work on their own initiative without constant supervision is crucial.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2019 in the first instance.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
