Animal Technician x 2

Some exciting opportunities have arisen for motivated and experienced Animal Technicians to join our dynamic, hardworking, and committed team. Positions range from licensed animal technicians to senior technicians and chief technician dependant on each applicant's experience and ability.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the care and welfare of small rodent cancer models housed within the facility, carrying out licensed procedures upon successful completion of competency and will help support the Facility Manager and NTCO towards training new and junior technicians with in-house policies and procedures. This will include the use IVC technology, supervision of day to day husbandry, breeding and maintenance of genetically modified animals. Part of the role will be checking and recording environmental parameters and the general condition of animals. You will be expected to spend time dedicated to each area of responsibility and these are outlined in the attached further particulars. You will be given the opportunity to further your IAT training qualifications and gain a Home Office licence.

The unit operates a rota system to provide cover at weekends and Bank Holidays. Candidates will therefore be required to work outside of normal working hours.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check, a health assessment and a security check.
