Kettle's Yard is seeking up to 12 friendly and enthusiastic Visitor Assistants to join our growing Front of House team, as we prepare for our re-opening in February 2018.
The Visitor Assistants (VAs) will be responsible for the day-to-day security of Kettle's Yard's collection while also providing a safe, enjoyable, accessible and informative experience for all visitors.
This role will function across both the historic cottages and the newly built galleries. VAs will be required to fulfil their dual function of safety and visitor engagement across both locations.
Kettle's Yard will be open to the public between 11am and 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The hours for these part-time posts will vary by applicant but ideally will fall between 16.5 - 25.5 hours per week, worked across Tuesday to Sunday. There will be opportunities for additional hours to cover occasional evening events, as well as the opportunity for zero-hour contracts for those interested in a more flexible work schedule. The estimated start date for the role will be 22 January 2018.

Kettle's Yard is the University of Cambridge's modern and contemporary art gallery. Kettle's Yard is a beautiful house with a remarkable collection of modern art as well as a gallery that hosts modern and contemporary art exhibitions. It has an international reputation for its outreach programmes which includes concerts of new and classical music and an extensive and diverse programme of learning and community activities. It attracts over 70,000 visitors a year. In 2015 Kettle's Yard closed for a major building project and will re-open in February 2018.
