We wish to recruit a Research Group Leader in any of the three divisions of Cellular and Molecular Pathology, Immunology or Microbiology and Parasitology within the Department of Pathology (http://www.path.cam.ac.uk/research/research-divisions) to establish an independent research group. The position will be for a maximum of five years and is available from 1 October 2018.
The successful candidate will be based at Department of Pathology, in Cambridge, and will be provided with laboratory space and a PhD-studentship in the Department. It is expected that he/she will obtain research grants to build a research group.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD and postdoctoral research experience that is relevant to their proposed research programme within the Department of Pathology. They will have an excellent track-record of research and have published in leading journals.
The main responsibilities of this role are outlined in the Further Information document and include developing an independent research programme, assisting in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate student projects and delivery of seminars relating to their research area.

As part of the selection process, short-listed candidates will be invited to visit the Department to give a seminar on their work and meet prospective colleagues. It is intended to arrange these visits for Lent Term (January to March) 2018.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 5 years in the first instance.
