Administrator, LGBTQ+@Cam Programme (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for an Administrator to help develop LGBTQ+@Cam - a major new initiative funded by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and based in the Department of Sociology.

LGBTQ+@Cam has been established with the aim of supporting and co-oordinating research, teaching and outreach activities in the field of LGBTQ+ studies. Launching in early 2018, the aim is to deliver University-wide support for new and existing scholarly projects in this important field by building infrastructure and expanding programming activities. LGBTQ+@Cam will bring together University researchers working across broad disciplinary boundaries and it is anticipated that the programme will develop many more new initiatives.

The administrator will be responsible for developing and managing the administrative processes required to deliver the end goals of the programme. The role must consistently provide a strong communications framework to engage with external stakeholders and to promote the work of the programme. Due to the evolving nature of the programme, new projects and priorities will arise as time progresses.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to programme development, great organisational skills, and the ability to take on and understand new tasks quickly. This is a new position and there is a real opportunity to help build and deliver a world-leading and transformative LGBTQ+ programme at one of the world's top universities.

The Department of Sociology is one of the four departments within the Faculty of Human, Social and Political Science, alongside the Departments of Archaeology, Social Anthropology and POLIS (Politics and International Studies). Further information about the department is available at:

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years in the first instance.
