The MRC Biostatistics Unit is seeking an individual to provide pro-active support to research staff through the management of financial systems and administration of research grants.
Candidates will ideally be educated to HND, HNC level 4/5 vocational qualification (or equivalent level of practical experience) and have AAT Intermediate or equivalent (or working towards). Candidates will also need to have previous accounting experience, excellent organisational and communication skills and be IT literate.
It is vital that you possess inter-personal skills to manage good working relationships with a wide variety of research staff to deliver a responsive financial service to them. The Department is committed to providing training and support for this post including payment of some accountancy course fees and study leave.
This position is part-time for a minimum of 25 hours a week. Due to the nature of the work, these hours must be spread over the five working days of the week.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
