The Neuroscience in Psychiatry Network is a Wellcome Trust funded collaboration between the University of Cambridge and University College London. Over the last 5 years researchers have collected data from more than 2500 young people in the form of questionnaires, behavioural assessments, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans and saliva samples.
The NSPN data curation research assistant will work with Dr Kirstie Whitaker to document and package this invaluable data set for release to, and use by, the wider scientific community.
Responsibilities will include, processing and documenting data from the Neuroscience in Psychiatry Network projects, including behavioural questionnaire measures, magnetic resonance imaging scans and genetic information. Liaising with researchers, principle investigators and data ethicists within the University of Cambridge to ensure that data is shared as widely and clearly as possible but without violating our participants' informed consent.
Required skills for this post are advanced level programming in python, high confidence using git and GitHub for project management and version control, as well as communication skills across a diverse and distributed team.
This position will be based at The Alan Turing Institute, which is headquartered at the British Library, 96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB, although weekly travel to Cambridge is expected.
