The University of Cambridge Finance Division are seeking to recruit for a 6 month secondment opportunity, which has arisen within the Central and Research Accounting Section. The team has overall responsibility for the accounting operation of the General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Research Grant and Inventory transactions
The role offers enormous variety covering both accounting and financial management tasks whilst ensuring best practice is maintained from a procedural perspective. You will oversee the work of one member of staff, prepare monthly management information, monthly reconciliations and supporting Departments.
You will be expected to be proactively working with all University departments and developing strong and effective working relationships to ensure that processes are effective and appropriately managed.
To apply for this position you must be qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills and a natural flair for systems and procedures. Excel is the reporting tool of choice so you must also be an advanced user. Finally, you must show a talent for managing people and relationships.
