This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of digital and information technology at the Museum by providing pro-active, confident and very importantly strategic leadership to establish the Museum's position as a pioneer and innovator within the field.
As well as shaping Digital and IT strategy, the role holder will have responsibility for the operational management and technical oversight of the Museum's IT infrastructure, systems, services and staff, and will be the Museum's main point of contact with professional colleagues within the University Information Services Division (UIS) and external Digital and IT partners . Educated to degree level or equivalent in Digital Humanities or an ICT related discipline, with significant experience of setting up and running digital and IT systems, including digital asset, collections management and CRM systems in a museum, library or archive environment are essential. Further, a successful track record of delivering complex projects plus project and budgetary management at a high level are required. Knowledge and experience of identifying funding opportunities and preparing funding bids also form part of this pivotal role.
Excellent collaborative people management and organisational skills coupled with strong leadership, direction and management plus the ability to coach and inspire others are prerequisite.
