Applications are invited for the Translational Research Administrator position to support impact activities led by CambPlants, the Department of Plant Sciences and the Cambridge Global Food Security initiative. CambPlants aim to provide a point of coordination and a hub for all plant-related research between University Departments, research groups, existing networks and initiatives, to foster new links with research/industry partners in Cambridge and externally and to increase the visibility of Plant research outputs
Cambridge Global Food Security Research Centre is a virtual network connecting Cambridge's world-leading research across the whole food system from production to consumption, spanning 24 departments, centres and institutes of the University. The centre's vision is to address the challenges of ensuring that all people at all times have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and preferences for an active and healthy life, and to work with stakeholders across business, policy and civil society to put innovative solutions into practice.
We are looking to appoint a Translational Research Administrator to provide administrative support for the organisation of events and programmes held across the initiatives. The role holder will support the Coordinators of these initiatives on a variety of tasks, from organising and running events to communications activities This includes, the development and maintenance of web-based communication (websites and social media). The role holder will need to interact effectively with a wide variety of colleagues, including senior professionals from both academic and industrial backgrounds. He/she will need to act under minimal supervision and to have a broad background and experience in order to support the objectives of these initiatives.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first instance.
