Media/Glass Washing Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for a glass washer/media assistant to complement our existing conscientious, technical support team at the Gurdon Institute. The team provides glass washing support and prepares media for the research groups at the Institute. This job involves collecting re-usable glass and plasticware from the laboratories, washing and sterilising them using glass washing equipment and autoclaves and returning them to the communal storage areas. The duties also include some media preparation, checking and maintaining stock levels of sterile glass and plasticware and associated consumables.

The job holder is required to interact well with others, be helpful and flexible and to work carefully to set standards. Previous experience of working as a glass washer in a laboratory environment would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
