The University of Cambridge Research Strategy Office wishes to appoint a Senior REF Impact Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to join the University of Cambridge Research Strategy Office at an exciting time.
The REF is the national system for assessing the quality and impact of UK universities across all disciplines. It determines block-grant funding of over £1.6 billion per year. Almost nine out of ten (87%) University of Cambridge submissions for the 2014 REF were rated as 'world leading' or 'internationally excellent', demonstrating our strength in research. The role-holders will work on the impact element of REF 2021 to support and maintain the University's reputation for excellence in research.
Role-holders will support the development of impact case studies which present the strongest examples of the world-leading and ground-breaking impact that the University's research has made beyond academia. Role-holders will develop a detailed understanding of impact in the context of the REF and provide strategic advice and practical support to individual researchers, research groups and departments and faculties in helping to identify, maximise and capture and communicate research impact.
It is intended the role-holder will focus on impact submissions under one REF Main Panel being Panel 4) Arts and Humanities.
The role holder will provide line management support to REF Impact Co-ordinators.
Role-holders will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively with staff at all levels. The ability to author and edit clear and persuasive documents is essential. Role-holders will be educated to degree-level or higher and will ideally have experience of working within a Higher Education Institute.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2021 in the first instance.
