Director, Strategic Partnerships Office

The University of Cambridge is one of the world's oldest universities and leading academic institutions. Cambridge comprises 31 Colleges and over 150 departments, faculties, and other centres. Its reputation for outstanding academic achievement is known worldwide and reflects the intellectual achievement of its students and world-class original research carried out by Cambridge staff.

The Strategic Partnerships Office is a new office which has been established to support the development of the University's existing and future partnerships, including those with industry, NGOs and government. Reporting to the Registrary and working in close partnership with the Vice-Chancellor's Office, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, the Research Office and Development & Alumni Relations, the Director will be responsible for establishing and embedding a vital resource which supports, facilitates and leads the identification and delivery of international institutional partnerships. The Director will contribute to strategic decision making and foster a culture of operational excellence to ensure the University maintains and enhances its position on the global stage.

We seek a highly performing, collaborative individual able to work effectively with internal stakeholders and externally with a variety of different sectors including academia, government and industry. Although experience of higher education is not essential, we seek individuals who can demonstrate a record of identifying, formalising and maintaining sophisticated strategic relationships with a broad range of organisations. Candidates will be commercially astute with outstanding negotiating and communication skills and present with the necessary credibility to represent the University nationally and internationally.
