Administration Assistant (Part Time Secondment Cover)

The MRC Epidemiology Unit, a department within the Clinical School, University of Cambridge, studies the genetic and environmental determinants of obesity, type 2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Business Team as Administration Assistant. Reporting to the Reception and Facilities Supervisor, you will provide support to the area of facilities management, including providing reception cover, using security and asset management systems and coordinating room bookings and hospitality activities. The role also provides administration support services to the Unit's business team and wider Unit in such areas as finance, human resources, general administration including the admin support of Unit meetings and conferences.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the running of a busy University department that is at the forefront of population science research. For the successful applicant a full induction programme will be provided, individual development plans will be actively supported and there is the opportunity to develop a range of transferrable skills.

You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to multi-task whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy. You will be highly organised and proficient in using the internet and MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

It would be advantageous for the role holder to have a flexible approach to covering Reception shifts during periods of absence.

This is a secondment cover position and is fixed term until 2 August 2018 or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
