CambPlants Research Coordinator (Maternity Cover)

Applications are invited for a fixed term appointment or secondment for a Research Facilitator for the CambPlants Hub hosted in the Department of Plant Sciences. The purpose of the role will be to provide leadership and coordination of the CambPlants Hub activities.

The CambPlants Hub is a 'one-stop-shop' to all activities across the University with relevance to plants, covering food, energy, materials, health and ecosystem services. CambPlants operates as an umbrella connecting a number of existing initiatives and acts as a gateway for leadership companies, policy makers and the public to access Cambridge expertise in plant science and the use of plants, instigating research collaborations, outreach, skills development and networking activities. CambPlants mission is to tackle global challenges by putting plant research into practice.

The successful candidate will be educated to PhD level in a discipline of relevance to plant science research. Ideally you will have established links with industry relevant to plants, and be able to demonstrate a track record of industry interaction and outreach activities. You will have experience with Technology Transfer and familiarity with Bioenergy and Industrial Biotechnology. You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be confident in communicating with academics, industry leaders and those in government roles.

Funding for this post is available for one year or the return of the post-holder whichever is the sooner. Applications from University staff wishing to take undertake the role as a secondment from their current post are welcome.
